Summary:
A 5-year weatherization and energy-efficient heating and cooling equipment loan for up to $5,000 at 3% interest is available for Barron Electric Cooperative (BEC) members who complete some or all of the recommendations from a Home Performance Assessment. Year-round residential members are eligible for a free Home Performance Assessment by a certified contractor through BEC. The contractor will perform a full energy evaluation with performance testing and will recommend energy-saving home improvements, based on the evaluation. If the member decides to apply for the loan, an assessment is required before the project begins and after the work is completed to measure the energy-saving results. Loans are available on a first-come, first serve basis. Loans are available for insulation, energy-efficient doors, windows, ventilation fans, and pre-qualified heating and cooling equipment. Home Performance Assessment/Energy Resource Conservation Loan Application forms can be found on the program web site or ordered by contacting the Member Services Department.
