Summary:
Puget Sound Energy (PSE) offers two different programs for multifamily energy efficiency rebates: the Multifamily Retrofit Program and the Multifamily New Construction Program. In order to participate, buildings must be located in the PSE electric or natural gas service territory.
PSE’s Multifamily Retrofit Program incentives include a range of measures aimed at assisting existing multifamily buildings. There are prescriptive rebates for equipment such as windows, insulation, light fixtures, water heaters, furnaces, and heat pumps. Other custom energy efficient upgrades are available for common heating systems, water heating systems, kitchen equipment, building mechanical systems, etc. Interested customers should contact a program representative for further information.
PSE’s Multifamily New Construction Energy Efficiency Program offers a variety of financial incentives and technical information and support throughout the construction phase of multi-family building projects. Under this comprehensive program, all residential and commercial financial incentives for multifamily new construction projects are packaged under one custom incentive. The incentives vary depending on whether the units use natural gas or electricity from PSE. Some eligible measures include: dishwashers, clothes washers, refrigerators, lighting fixtures, boilers, heat pumps, water heaters, and windows. Details are located on the program web site.
