Summary:
Columbia River PUD offers a variety of rebates to residential customers for making energy efficient improvements to electrically heated homes. Rebates are available for Energy Star manufactured homes, Energy Star appliances, duct sealing, ductless heat pumps, air-source heat pumps, Marathon water heaters, appliance recycling, heat pump water heaters, and a variety of weatherization measures. Columbia River PUD also has a team of Energy Experts who can provide residential customers with a free analysis of home energy use to identify potential energy savings opportunities.
In order to qualify for the duct sealing program, homes (either site-built or manufactured) must have a forced air electric furnace or heat pump system. In order to qualify for the ductless heat pump program, a home's primary heat source must be permanently installed electric resistive heat such as an electric furnace, wall heaters, baseboards or ceiling cable. Rebates on air-source heat pumps vary according to whether the new system is installed into a qualified existing heating system, or if the new system is installed in new construction or replaces a non-qualified heat source. Customers should see the program web site or contact the Columbia River PUD Energy Experts for more information.
