Summary:
The Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Program uses a whole-house approach to lower energy costs. GoodCents auditors perform the home performance assessment and provide recommendations for a potentially refundable $50 fee. Auditors are certified through the Building Performance Institute (BPI), a national resource for building science technology. Auditors use diagnostic equipment to test the home and identify energy efficiency improvements.
Once the assessment is complete, the customer can decide which energy efficiency measures may be worth installing. The Program offers a number of rebates, depending on the type of work that is being done.
