Summary:
Ohio subsidiaries of FirstEnergy (Ohio Edison, The Illuminating Company, Toledo Edison) offer rebates for builders of new, energy efficient homes. Each newly built home is eligible for a rebate of $400, plus $0.10/kWh saved annually over the reference home, as calculated by REM/Rate. The maximum amount per home is $1,200 and all construction and installation requirements must be met. Qualifying homes will be Energy Star Certified, be 15% more efficient than current code, and be located within the service areas of one of the FirstEnergy Utilities, Toledo Edison, Ohio Edison, and The Illuminating Company.
