Summary:
Southern Pine Electric Power Association offers the Comfort Advantage Home Program which provides rebates on heat pumps to new homes which meet certain Comfort Advantage weatherization standards. To qualify for this rebate the home must have:
- Attic insulation of R-38 or higher
- Wall insulation of R-13 or higher
- Floor insulation of R-19 or greater
- Dual-pane windows
- Glass area less than 20% of total floor area
- An electric water heater
- Effective air-sealing and attic ventilation
- A properly designed, installed and insulated duct system
If the above criteria are met, the home owner can receive rebates up to $500 for new, energy efficient heat pumps. It is recommended that the customer contact SPEPA before construction begins. Review the program web site for more information.
