The U.S. Department of Energy and the North Carolina Clean Energy Technology Center are excited to announce that a new, modernized DSIRE is under construction. The new version of DSIRE will offer significant improvements over the current version, including expanded data accessibility and an array of new tools for site users. The new DSIRE site will be available in December 2014. Staff are currently working hard on the new version of DSIRE but are also maintaining the content of the current version of DSIRE. Independence Power and Light offers rebates to builders for constructing new, energy efficient homes which meet Energy Star standards. Builders who meet Energy Star standards and install specified equipment will be eligible for prescriptive rebate amounts ranging from $300 - $800 per new home. Incentivized items include Energy Star inspection and certification costs, central air conditioning systems, heat pumps, and water heaters. Rebate amounts per home vary based upon which equipment is installed in new residences. See application form on the program web site for other rebate and eligibility information. Complete all necessary information on application forms and include all requested equipment information. Contact utility for further program information.
