The U.S. Department of Energy and the North Carolina Clean Energy Technology Center are excited to announce that a new, modernized DSIRE is under construction. The new version of DSIRE will offer significant improvements over the current version, including expanded data accessibility and an array of new tools for site users. The new DSIRE site will be available in December 2014. Staff are currently working hard on the new version of DSIRE but are also maintaining the content of the current version of DSIRE. Southwest Electric Cooperative - Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Amount:Geothermal Heat Pump (New Units): $750/ton
Geothermal Heat Pump (Replacement Units): $200/ton
Dual Fuel Heat Pump: $150/ton
Room AC: $50
Energy Audit Repairs: 50% of cost
Maximum Incentive:Geothermal Heat Pump: 10 tons for Residential, 50 tons for Commercial
Energy Audit Repairs: $500
Equipment Requirements:Geothermal Heat Pumps: Must be EnergyStar, EER 19.1 minimum
Dual Fuel Heat Pumps: must use a propane or natural gas system for supplemental heat, SEER 16.5 minimum
Room AC: Energy Star
Installation Requirements:Geothermal Heat Pumps: must be installed with a Delta T of 80

Southwest Electric Cooperative offers rebates to its customers that purchase energy efficient heating and air conditioning equipment . This program offers rebates for customers who buy Energy Star geothermal and dual fuel heat pumps, and room air conditioners. Heat pump rebates apply to new construction or replacement of an already existing heating system. An application form must be submitted to the utility, along with a copy of the original dated sales receipt, within 90 days of product purchase date.  Customers who purchase an energy audit from Southwest Electric are eligible to receive an energy efficiency kit valued at $55 and to be reimbursed for 50% of the repairs made through the audit program, up to $500.  For more information, and specific equipment and installation requirements, visit the cooperative's web site.
