Summary:
The Empire District Electric Company offers rebates for customers who construct highly efficient homes and purchase efficient central air conditioners. Eligible customers include residential customers, owners of rental properties, and builders of new homes. Rebate levels increase with the efficiency of the system as measured by the seasonal energy efficiency ratio (SEER) for the unit. Rebates are only available for systems installed on or after June 4, 2007 and participants must provide documentation of system efficiency through either a Certificate of ARI-Certified Performance or manufacturer's literature. Rebates will be approved on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested parties should contact the utility prior to making any purchases to verify that the program is still open and active.
