Eligible Efficiency Technologies: Water Heaters, Furnaces , Heat pumps, Central Air conditioners, Building Insulation, Custom/Others pending approval
Applicable Sectors: Commercial, Residential, Nonprofit, Schools, Multi-Family Residential
Amount:Up to $1000 for residents
Up to $3000 for commercial, non-profits, and schools
Equipment Requirements:Must have a projected energy savings of 15% or more

Summary:

The EnergyWorks KC program offers rebates to commercial, residential, and non-profit Kansas City organizations and residents who improve energy efficiency in their homes or buildings. Residential program applicants can receive rebates of up to $1,000 and commercial, non-profit, and school applicants can receive up to $3,000 energy efficiency in areas such as:

  • Heating systems
  • Water heating systems
  • Air conditioning
  • Building shell improvements

To qualify for the rebate, applicants must have an analysis done of their facility or home and have 15% projected energy savings from energy efficient installations. See program web site for more information. 

This program is part of the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Better Buildings Program. The DOE has awarded over $500 million in federal funds to more than 40 states, local governments, and organizations to administer local programs targeting a variety of building types. Combined, these local programs are expected to improve the efficiency of more than 170,000 buildings through 2013 and save up to $65 million in energy costs annually.
