The U.S. Department of Energy and the North Carolina Clean Energy Technology Center are excited to announce that a new, modernized DSIRE is under construction. The new version of DSIRE will offer significant improvements over the current version, including expanded data accessibility and an array of new tools for site users. The new DSIRE site will be available in December 2014. Staff are currently working hard on the new version of DSIRE but are also maintaining the content of the current version of DSIRE. Eligible Renewable/Other Technologies: Geothermal Heat Pumps
Applicable Sectors: Commercial, Industrial, Agricultural
Amount:Variable Frequency Drives: $30/HP
Premium Efficiency Motor Retrofit: $15/HP
Lighting: varies by fixture, and retrofit or new construction
Agriculture Ventilation: 50% of cost
Dairy Cooling Plate: 50% of cost
Cooling Towers: $3/nominal tower ton
Geothermal Heat Pumps: $200 per ton

Summary:

To encourage energy efficiency, Stearns Electric offers rebates to agricultural, industrial and commercial customers. Under this program, premium efficiency motors, adjustable speed drives, industrial cooling, retrofit and new construction lighting, dairy plate coolers, dairy free heaters, geothermal heat pumps, and vending machine controllers are eligible for rebates. Some rebates vary by system efficiency or capacity. Customers must contact Stearns Electric for certain incentive amounts which are not listed on the program web site. For rebate applications and more information on the rebate amounts, eligible technologies, and necessary efficiency requirements, visit the program web site listed above.
