Summary:
Efficiency Maine offers rebates for the purchase of Energy Star certified appliances, including clothes washers, refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers, room air conditioners, water heaters, and air purifiers. Purchases must be made between October 1, 2012 and June 30, 2013. See the program web site for the mail-in rebate form and to locate a retailer.
In addition, in partnership with Maine Libraries, Efficiency Maine has made Kill A Watt® monitors available for Maine residents to borrow. The monitors plug into electrical outlets and then a consumer plugs an appliance into the monitor to find out how much electricity the appliance uses.
