Summary:
Efficiency Maine's Residential Lighting Program works with retailers and manufacturers to encourage the purchase of energy-efficient lighting by residential customers. The program offers an instant rebate on Energy Star-qualified compact fluorescent light (CFL) lighting, between $0.50 and $3.00 at participating retailers. Participating retailers will deduct the rebate amount at the cash register. (See the program web site for a list of participating retailers and additional information.)

In addition, in partnership with Maine Libraries, Efficiency Maine has made Kill A Watt® monitors available for Maine residents to borrow. The monitors plug into electrical outlets and then a consumer plugs an appliance into the monitor to find out how much electricity the appliance uses.
