The U.S. Department of Energy and the North Carolina Clean Energy Technology Center are excited to announce that a new, modernized DSIRE is under construction. The new version of DSIRE will offer significant improvements over the current version, including expanded data accessibility and an array of new tools for site users. The new DSIRE site will be available in December 2014. Staff are currently working hard on the new version of DSIRE but are also maintaining the content of the current version of DSIRE. Thank you for your continued support and patience during this transition. We hope you are as excited for December as we are!

The Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) joins the Maryland Clean Energy Center (MCEC) in offering low interest loans for projects which increase the energy efficiency of participating residences.

In order to be eligible, the property must be an owner-occupied primary residence located in the State of Maryland. Single-family detached homes and townhouses are eligible for loans, while condominiums and coops are unable to participate. Participants must have good credit record of at least 620 and must have the ability to repay. Interested homeowners must contact the MCEC program to pre-quality for the loan before start of the project.

The program offers unsecured financing loans from $1,500 to $20,000 at an interest rate of 9.99%. The term of the loan depends on the loan amount, with maximum of 10 years. The funds can be used to install energy efficient equipment such as HVAC, furnaces, and water heaters that are ENERGY STAR rated and also perform energy efficient upgrades including air sealing, insulation, and other projects recommended by a certified auditor.
