The U.S. Department of Energy and the North Carolina Clean Energy Technology Center are excited to announce that a new, modernized DSIRE is under construction. The new version of DSIRE will offer significant improvements over the current version, including expanded data accessibility and an array of new tools for site users. The new DSIRE site will be available in December 2014. Staff are currently working hard on the new version of DSIRE but are also maintaining the content of the current version of DSIRE. Amount:Electric Water Heaters: $25 - $150
40 or 50 gallon water heater: FREE Hybrid Heat Pump Water Heater: $300 - $400
Central Air Conditioning: $300 - $600
Air-Source Heat Pumps: $300 - $2,200
Geothermal Heat Pumps: $1,000 - $2,200
ETS Systems: varies

Eligible System Size:Water Heaters: $25 rebate for 40-79 gallons; $100 rebate for 80 gallons or more
Equipment Requirements:Water Heaters: 40 gallon minimum
Central Air Conditioning: 15 SEER minimum
Air-Source Heat Pumps: 14 SEER minimum
Installation Requirements:40 or 50 gallon water heater: for gas replacement or new construction

Orange County REMC offers incentives for members to improve the energy efficiency of homes, appliances and equipment. Rebates are available for water heaters, geothermal heat pumps, air-source heat pumps, central air conditioners, ETS systems, and CFL bulbs. The rebate amount depends on the size and efficiency of the equipment and the type of system that it is replacing. A free 40- to 50-gallon water heater is also available to customers with gas replacements or new construction.
