Summary:
Jackson County Rural Electric Membership Corporation (REMC) offers a variety of rebates for energy efficient equipment installed and operating in the current program year. Homes or structures connected to Jackson County REMC are eligible for the rebate. Rebates are available for electric water heaters, central air conditioning systems, and air-source and geothermal heat pumps. All equipment must meet certain standards listed on the program website, and rebate amounts generally vary depending on the efficiency of the equipment. Most rebates are available for new construction and replacement equipment. Rebates are also available for adding an air-source heat pump to a fossil fuel furnace. Geothermal heat pumps that replace an existing geothermal heat pump are only eligible for rebates if the warranty on the old unit has expired. A purchase receipt and a copy of the manufacturer's SEER rating information must accompany a completed incentive request form, which is located on the program web site. Deadline for rebate applications is December 31 of the current program year.
