The U.S. Department of Energy and the North Carolina Clean Energy Technology Center are excited to announce that a new, modernized DSIRE is under construction. The new version of DSIRE will offer significant improvements over the current version, including expanded data accessibility and an array of new tools for site users. The new DSIRE site will be available in December 2014. Staff are currently working hard on the new version of DSIRE but are also maintaining the content of the current version of DSIRE. Equipment Requirements:Water Heaters: EF.85 - . 94 minimum depending on size
All appliances must be ENERGY Star certified
Windows: Must meet NFRC guidelines
Installation Requirements:Heat Pumps and Geothermal Heat Pumps must be installed by a certified PTCS contractor
Windows: Self-installed windows will undergo pre/post inspection by a KEC representative

Summary:
Kootenai Electric Cooperative offers incentives for residential customers to increase the energy efficiency of participating homes. Rebates are available for the purchase of ENERGY Star qualified clothes washers, refrigerators, and certified homes, as well as water heaters, air-source and geothermal heat pumps, duct sealing, and windows. ENERGY Star Home rebates vary depending on the construction and the installed heating system. Qualified homes must have a heat pump installed according to ENERGY Star specifications.
