Summary:

Starting on October 1st 2008, Indianola Municipal Utilities redesigned their energy efficiency rebate program to include the following: commercial lighting, central air conditioning, add-on heat pumps, geothermal heat pumps, programmable thermostats and energy audits for both residential and commercial/industrial customers. Residential customers who install heat pumps are also eligible for a $0.30 per square foot rebate on attic insulation installed to a minimum R-40 value. To qualify homes must be at least 10 years old with existing insulation levels less than or equal to an R-24. All rebates except the commercial lighting are available for both residential and commercial customers. Rebates are given in the form of a credit to the customer's city utility account. The application and invoice must be received within six months of purchase date to qualify for the rebates. Applications are located on the program website.
