Summary:

Interstate Power and Light (IPL) offers a wide variety of incentives for their commercial customers to save energy in their facilities, whether they are upgrading existing facilities or building new ones. IPL also offers a free business energy audit program.

Existing Facilities
IPL offers standard rebates for a variety of appliances; heating, cooling and hot water equipment; building shell improvements; lighting and ceiling fans; commercial food service equipment; premium efficiency motors and variable speed drives; and vending machine controllers. A Cash Rewards Booklet can be found on the program website outlining incentive amounts and program guidelines.

Appliance rebates are available for refrigerators, freezers, clothes washers, and dishwashers. IPL also has an appliance recycling program that will recycle functioning refrigerators, freezers, and room air conditioning units for free and provide a rebate of $25-$50. Eligible heating and cooling equipment includes: furnaces, boilers, chillers, geothermal and air-source heat pumps, water heaters, programmable thermostats, and room and central air conditioners. Rebates are also available for certain weatherization measures such as window, door, and sash replacements; insulation upgrades; caulking; weatherstripping; and air-tight sealing. Lighting rebates are available for a variety of CFLS, fixtures, occupancy sensors, traffic lights, and exit signs. Commercial food service rebates are available for commercial refrigerators and freezers, ice makers, steam cookers, fryers, ovens, and hot food holding cabinets. Custom rebates are available for energy-saving projects that do not qualify for the standard equipment rebates.

Commercial New Construction
IPL's Commercial New Construction program offers commercial customers incentives for both the design of high efficiency buildings as well as the construction. Design team incentives are based on the square footage of the building. Construction incentives are per kilowatt-hour plus an additional per therm rebate. Further information on incentive amounts, construction specifications, and how to apply are located on the program website.
