The U.S. Department of Energy and the North Carolina Clean Energy Technology Center are excited to announce that a new, modernized DSIRE is under construction. The new version of DSIRE will offer significant improvements over the current version, including expanded data accessibility and an array of new tools for site users. The new DSIRE site will be available in December 2014. Staff are currently working hard on the new version of DSIRE but are also maintaining the content of the current version of DSIRE. Thank you for your continued support and patience during this transition. We hope you are as excited for December as we are!

Gulf Power, owned by Southern Company, offers programs to make customers' homes more energy efficient through do-it-yourself or professionally installed efficiency measures.  First, the utility conducts a free analysis of the home's energy efficiency and identifies ways to use less energy and save money.  Contact the utility for assistance with online or at-home check-ups.   For those building a new home, Gulf Power provides a free pre-construction analysis that includes heating and cooling system sizing and building envelope recommendations.  Gulf Power also provides eligible homes with free Energy Select systems, which includes a programmable thermostat that allows central heating and cooling system, electric water heater and pool pump to automatically respond to varying prices of electricity. Visit the program website for information on rebates, eligibility and equipment requirements, and the application process.
