The U.S. Department of Energy and the North Carolina Clean Energy Technology Center are excited to announce that a new, modernized DSIRE is under construction. The new version of DSIRE will offer significant improvements over the current version, including expanded data accessibility and an array of new tools for site users. The new DSIRE site will be available in December 2014. Staff are currently working hard on the new version of DSIRE but are also maintaining the content of the current version of DSIRE. Amount:PV and Small Wind: $0.75 per watt-DC
Solar Water Heating: $1,500
Maximum Incentive:Residential PV: $2,250 or up to 3 kW; not to exceed 50% of system cost
Commercial PV: $7,500 or up to 10 kW; not to exceed 50% of system cost
Small Wind Residential: $2,250 or up to 3 kW; not to exceed 50% of system cost
Eligible System Size:Residential Wind and PV Systems: 100% of consumption history or 10 kW, whichever is less.
Commercial Wind and PV Systems: 100% of consumption history or 25 kW, whichever is less.
Solar Water Heating Systems: Minimum capacity of 30,000 BTs per day.
Equipment Requirements:Solar Water Heaters: Must have electric back-up with a storage tank of at least 60 gallons, and must be SRCC OG-100 rated.
Wind: Must be certified by the Small Wind Certification Council
Installation Requirements:PV: Contractor must be a NABCEP Certified PV installer
Solar Water Heating: Contractor must be a NABCEP Certified PV installer or solar heating installer
Ownership of Renewable Energy Credits:Granted to utility
Funding Source:Utility Funds
Expiration Date:When funding is exhausted or end of the year

Summary:

San Miguel Power Association (SMPA) is providing rebates to its residential and commercial customers for installing photovoltaic (PV), small wind, and solar water heating systems systems as well as other renewable energy systems (e.g., micro-hydro, biomass) on a case-by-case basis. Applicants must own the system to qualify for the rebate. Systems leased from a third party are ineligible.
