Anaheim Public Utilities - Green Building and New Construction Rebate Program

Eligible Efficiency Technologies: Lighting, Heat pumps, Air conditioners, Caulking/Weather-stripping, Duct/Air sealing, Building Insulation, Windows, Doors, Siding, Roofs, Comprehensive Measures/Whole Building
Applicable Sectors: Commercial, Industrial, Residential, Builder/Developer, Multi-Family Residential, Low-Income Residential
Incentive Amount:$0.15/KWH MEASURE OR REBATE (PER KW)
Maximum Incentive:Commercial facility: $200,000 rebates max for energy-efficient building systems;
residential projects up to $100,000.
Total for each measure: $50,000
New Construction Incentives offers up to $400 per kW saved for each measure (lighting, building envelope, and mechanical
Waive plan check fees: maximum $50,000/initial submittal review
New construction incentives: maximum $200,000/commercial facility
Energy Star® appliance incentives: maximum $100,000/project
Design review assistance: maximum $15,000
LEED certification: maximum $30,000
Green building rater incentives: maximum $6,000
Equipment Requirements:Anaheim Public Utilities will perform a post-construction inspection to verify that California Title 24 standards were met.
Installation Requirements:Contact APU to set up the initial consultation.
Project Review/Certification:Projects must either be certified under the guidelines of the U.S. Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), or successfully rated with a recognized green building rater. Customer will receive a rebate check within 6 weeks of the inspection and receipt of a copy of paid itemized invoices.

Summary:
Anaheim Public Utilities (APU) offers commercial, industrial and institutional customers the Green Building and New Construction Incentives Program to offset construction, installation and upgrade costs of energy efficient equipment.  
 
Interested customers must contact APU to set up initial consultation. Working with a design team and builder, APU will contribute up to $10,000 for design assistance. Total rebates can be up to $25,000 per measure and $75,000 per facility. More infomation, including contact information and program sign-up can be found on the program website listed above.  
 
The program rewards developers, owners, and construction firms who select building practices that encourage environmental innovation beneficial to both the health of the Anaheim community and its economy. Services and incentives include:

  • Solar energy installation incentives for residential and commercial facilities
