Summary:
Entergy Arkansas' CitySmartSM Quick Start Program provides assistance and financial incentives to local public entities for the installation of energy efficiency measures that reduce peak demand loads in their facilities. The CitySmartSM program is offered to all Entergy Arkansas local public entity customers that receive retail electric service. The program provides participants with access to resources such as energy benchmarking, energy master planning assistance, technical assistance, communications support, and financial incentives. Projects that are eligible for the incentive of $144/kW for peak demand reductions must have a total estimated demand reduction of at least 20 kW during the summer peak period. Eligible projects include LED traffic signals, energy efficient lighting, premium efficiency motors, high efficiency heating and cooling equipment (such as air conditioners and heat pumps), and electric chillers.

Interested public entities must submit an executed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to the CitySmartSM Quick Start program administrator. An Entergy Arkansas representative will then work with the individual entities to benchmark energy performance and identify energy efficiency projects within their facilities. Once identified, the representative can assist the participating entity in identifying the right resources to implement the projects. Projects go through a pre- and post-installation inspection process that approves the energy efficiency work and allows for incentive payments. The program accepts MOUs on a rolling basis. Local public entities interested in enrolling in the program should contact their Entergy Arkansas Customer Service Manager or call the program office at 877-212-2420.
